County Executive Maggie Brooks' 2009 budget proposal dusts off an old trick - one-shot revenues. Brooks has proposed closing a $33 million budget gap, in part, by selling $22 million in tax liens.
In the past, the county has used tobacco settlement funds or sold property. But the tobacco funds are no longer an option, and over the years the county has exhausted a number of other possibilities.
Brooks unveiled her proposal during tonight's County Legislature meeting.
