In a parallel world, toys would spring to life to accept their induction into the Toy Hall of Fame. Last year, then, we would've seen Raggedy Andy hobble up to the stage, when he and the Atari 2600 were honored. So far, 39 toys - including the Etch-a-Sketch, View-Master, Play-Doh, Slinky, Jack-in-the-Box, and the Easy-Bake Oven - have been inducted. Though it's not announced in advance which toys will be included this year, there are other reasons to go: there's a hula hoop challenge, and among other special activities, Hilby the Skinny German Juggle Boy will perform.

The celebration takes place Saturday and Sunday, November 8 and 9, at the Strong National Museum of Play, 1 Manhattan Square. Admission is free for members and children younger than 2, $7.50 for kids age 2-17, $8.50 for seniors, and $9.50 for adults, and includes the hall of fame event. Call 263-2700, or visit museumofplay.org for more info.
